Ugly Betty

From "Exclusive: Mad Men's Bryan Batt to Guest-Star on Ugly Betty"

Those still mourning the firing of Mad Men's Salvatore Romano, chin up: Bryan Batt will guest-star on Ugly Betty, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Batt will play Spencer Cannon, a handsome soap opera actor in his mid-40s who Amanda (Becki Newton) tries to set up with Marc (Michael Urie). Batt is the second Mad man to guest-star on Ugly Betty this season: Rich Sommer (Harry Crane) shows up tonight as a fireman and potential love interest for Betty.

Batt is slated to appear on Betty's penultimate episode on April 7, but his role may be extended into the series finale, according to a source.

Lost

Excerpts from "Lost Redux: So Wait, Are They All Gonna Live Forever?!"

Nestor also promises: "I will not lie to you—episode nine, you're gonna get big reveals about the Island. Episode 15, even more so." Remember, Michael Emerson told us of episode 15: "It's set in a time and place that you will never have seen on a network series before. When was the last time you saw a network drama episode that none of the series regulars were in the episode?" My money's on Jacob and the Man in Black. But where are they?

Damon and Carlton say that Claire's son Aaron is "important" and "definitely figures into the end of the show." Damon says we "will see Walt in some form again." And they wouldn't comment on whether Kate or Juliet might be the mother of Jack's baby. "Big one," Carlton says. "You're good, though. You're very good." My money's on Juliet!

Rebecca: How about some 90210 scoop please!

Soitenly! I'm hearing that Dixon and Ivy are going to fake-date to make Liam jealous, but Dixon is going to start having some feelings for Ivy. Oh, the tangled web young love can weave!

Supernatural

Excerpt from "Spoiler Chat: The Vampire Diaries Stars Dish on Romance—and a Lost Return!"

Kat in Milton, Wisc.: OK, so this is probably a false rumor, but I'm going to ask about it anyway. The rumor is that we will see Jo, Bela and Ruby all making an appearance in Supernatural's big 100th episode. If you could confirm this rumor or salt and burn it for us, we would greatly appreciate it.

An inside source tells me there will be "no special people" in Supernatural's 100th episode. So...crisis averted?

Smallville

Excerpt from "Spoiler Chat: The Vampire Diaries Stars Dish on Romance—and a Lost Return!"

James from Atlanta: Have you heard if we finally get Lois for all 22 episodes of Smallville season 10?

Details of Erica Durance's contact for next season are still up in the air, but I have it on good authority that we will "probably" see Lois "more than usual" on Smallville next year.

Hamilton in Brentwood, Tenn.: Is this Chloe's last season on Smallville?

All I can tell you is that there is no deal yet for Allison Mack to return to Smallville next year. That could change at any time, but nothing so far...

Ruth in Boise, Idaho: Is it true Gil Bellows is coming to Smallville? I loved him on Ally McBeal!

Yes, he is, and he is still evil (though not because of a brain tumor this time--sigh, remember those days?!). He's playing Maxwell Lord for two episodes this season, per my sources. Hey, maybe he can go replace Rob Lowe on Brothers & Sisters and be Calista's new squeeze?

Lost

Excerpt from "Spoiler Chat: The Vampire Diaries Stars Dish on Romance—and a Lost Return!"

Trudy in New York: Please, anything on Lost!

Check back for scoop from Damon and Carlton in tomorrow night's Lost Redux! But for now I can tell you we will meet Richard Alpert's (Nestor Carbonell) wife. (Yes, he has or had a missus!) Also, Zuleikha Robinson teases this of her character, Ilana: "There is a lot going on and yes, there will be some answers soon. I think the character is really interesting and she's definitely an important part of the group." We'll also see her interacting with Richard. Place your bets now!

Wendy: Is it confirmed what you said, that Ian Somerhalder will be seen on Lost again?

Yes, and see what he says about it in the video clip at top. He's hoping to meet up with Maggie Grace, and wants a better ending for Boone. Don't. We. All. (Maybe in the flash-sideways 'verse he and Shannon aren't step-related and can be together? Too weird? Yeah, probably.)

Gossip Girl

Excerpt from "Spoiler Chat: The Vampire Diaries Stars Dish on Romance—and a Lost Return!"

Deirdre: Any scoop on Gossip Girl?

Georgina has found something even bigger than Bible camp: Bleach! When we ran into her in NYC recently, she said this of her upcoming role on GG: "There's definitely going to be some stalking. There's gonna be a few changes to Georgina's appearance, so you'll have to tune in and see if you can recognize me." When we guessed she was going blond, M.T. just said, "I don't know," but from the looks of this new photo we just nabbed of her, I fear she may be going Single White Female on Serena's ass. Run for you life, "S"!

Desperate Housewives

From "'Desperate Housewives' scoop: A happy ending for Katherine and Robin?"

News that ABC is looking to transfer Desperate Housewives‘ Dana Delany to a new procedural next season would seem to suggest that her late-in-life-lesbian alter ego, Katherine, is headed straight off Wisteria Lane. But that may not necessarily be the case.

First off, Delany’s deal to join the cast of Body of Evidence is still not done. And second, even if the Emmy winner does sign on the dotted line, there’s no guarantee the pilot will become an actual series. “You never know with pilots,” Delany shrugs. “Many of them never get off the ground, so all this talk could be rendered [pointless]. But I am realistically hopeful. I love the [Evidence] character, so I hope it all works out.”

Delany’s ideal scenario has her headlining Evidence next season and making occasional guest appearances on Housewives. “[Series creator] Marc Cherry [promised] he would not kill me off and told me I was always welcome to come back to the Lane,” she says. “I would love for Katherine to pop into town and say hi to the gang every once in awhile.”

In the meantime, Delany remains focused on finishing out this season of Housewives. Does she think Katherine’s big gay awakening will stick? “This might actually be her thing,” she says. “It may make her happier than she has ever been. She does not have the best track record with men to begin with.”

Coincidentally, Delany’s current on-screen squeeze, Julie Benz, also landed an ABC pilot — the super-powered drama No Ordinary Family. For her part, Benz hopes the simultaneous bookings will result in a happy ending for Katherine and Robin. “I love the idea that those two may ride of into the sunset together.”

Grey's Anatomy

From "'Grey's' exclusive: Two more docs checking out?"

It looks like Grey’s Anatomy will be down two doctors next season, and, believe it or not, neither of them are played by Katherine Heigl!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Mercy West transplants Robert Baker (Dr. Percy) and Nora Zehetner (Dr. Adamson) are not expected to return next season.

There’s no official word on the fate of fellow “invaders” Jesse Williams (Dr. Avery) and Sarah Drew (Dr. Kepner), but there’s buzz both may stick around long-term. Grey’s boss Shonda Rhimes has until June to decide whether to exercise the series regular options in their contracts. (Here’s hoping she does; I like those two.)

Heigl’s MIA Izzie, meanwhile, will reappear in April. But for how long? Confides an ABC source: “No one knows.”

Ugly Betty

Excerpt from "Spoiler Chat: Who Is Jack's Baby Mama on Lost?"

Isaac in Georgia: I'm an old-school Ugly Betty fan, and I always thought that Betty and Henry were meant to be together in the end. Any chance that's going to happen before the end of the show this spring?

We just talked with Christopher Gorham himself at USA's Character Approved Awards in New York and asked whether or not Betty and Henry were going to end up being Ugly Betty's one true pairing. He told us, "I always thought that [Betty and Henry] were meant to be together, but it's out of my hands." We thought he sounded pretty defeated as he said this, so maybe don't hold your collective breath for a series-ending Suarez-Grubstick wedding? Sorry, guys.

Teresa in Kentucky: How will Betty end?

I'm told that Hilda will have a shower in London, and Betty, Hilda and Christina all end up drinking together. (It was shot on a green screen.) So it sorta sounds like what I'd reported before might be true, that Betty chooses none of the boys and goes solo to a "far off land." Also, Justin kisses a boy.

90210

Excerpt from "Spoiler Chat: Who Is Jack's Baby Mama on Lost?"

Diana in Memphis, Tenn.: I'm so ready for 90210 goodness. What's coming up the next couple of months?

For AnnaLynne McCord, it's going to be a lot of 90210 badness! We chatted the actress up at the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation event and she told us, "The finale is always brutal for Naomi. It's always the worst thing in the world. She has it horrible! The last thing of the finale is Naomi's face, and it's really bad. What happens to her is awful. So I kinda feel like there will be some downward spiral in a way for Naomi's character, but she's good at covering, so she'll still have that façade. But you're really gonna feel bad for her at the end of this episode."

Perry in Milwaukee, Wis.: Naomi and Liam are my favorite 90210 couple. Any scoop on them together?

Yes! AnnaLynne told us there's a lot of Naomi-Liam goodness to come on 90210. She said, "Matt Lanter and I have so much fun together. We love working together. There are some hysterical moments that I don't recommend 16-year-olds doing at home, one of which where Naomi shows up with a trench coat and, well, nothing else...'cause that's smart." Does that work out for her? "It works out! Oh, it works out quite well."

Pam in Kentwood, La.: I can't wait for 90210 to finally return, and I'm really interested in the Rumer Willis-Jessica Lowndes storyline. What can we expect?

When it comes to the budding Gia-Adrianna romance, you can expect tons of good things. Rumer and Jessica actually have loads of chemistry, and while their attraction to each other seems to develop a little quickly, this is one 90210 storyline we're fully onboard with. Adrianna and Gia bond over mutual sobriety, then music and movies and ice cream, and pretty soon, they're in young love. Before the two move ahead, Ade will question her sexuality and turn to her besties for help. The consensus? She's not gay, just has a connection with Gia.

Gossip Girl

Excerpt from "Spoiler Chat: Who Is Jack's Baby Mama on Lost?"

Melody in North Hollywood, Calif.: What's the latest with Serena's dad on Gossip Girl?

I just talked to Stephanie Savage and will bring you couples scoop in a jiffy! In the meantime, "When you think about the Humphreys and Van Der Woodsens and that extended family that they have, [Serena's father] coming back really lands on everybody in a great way. It definitely causes drama for Serena and Eric and the other kids, and there's an adult component with Rufus and Lily, because there's some backstory there." And according to Matthew Settle, Billy Baldwin as Papa van der Woodsen is a great addition to Gossip Girl. Settle told us at the G-Star Raw event in New York City: "It's a great love triangle. Billy's got a great energy; he's a good actor. It's believable that he would be Serena's father, and he's a great fit for the show. It's really good casting."

Gregory in Minneapolis, Minn.: Will Rufus and Lily's son Scott be around when Gossip Girl returns?

We've seen the last of Scott for now, Stephanie said. "[He's] done for this season, but he can absolutely come back next season."

Lost

Excerpt from "Spoiler Chat: Who Is Jack's Baby Mama on Lost?"

Matthew in Baltimore: Any ETA on how, when or if the two timelines on Lost will come together?

We can answer the "how" and "if" portion of your question with something Carlton Cuse told us this weekend: "We have two timelines we're exploring simultaneously, and when the audience understands how those two timelines connect, hopefully it will provide a satisfaction that will make you happy and give you what you want but not in the way you want it." As for that tricky "when," he'd only say this: "It's too much of a reveal, but let's say it won't happen until the very end of the show because that's obviously the big question of the season." Basically, plan on seeing lots of island Jack and Jack the Dad in episodes to come.

Marcus in Mass.: Do you know anything at all about the Lost finale? Anything?!

Those Lost folks stay so tight-lipped, but we did get show writer Elizabeth Sarnoff to say a word or two about the finale, and she gave us these: emotional and rewarding. "The end is really emotional, and that's what we're going for. These characters are the heart and soul of the show and we want to give them rewarding endings," explained Liz. Damon Lindelof, on the other hand, had only this to say regarding Lost's conclusion: "Water." And trust us, he was very serious about whatever this word means for the end. "It sounds funny now, but you'll see!" he promised.

Maggie in Helena, Mont.: This Richard Alpert episode of Lost can't come soon enough. Anything you can say about it?

We'll let Nestor Carbonell do the talking: "You're going to see mostly the origins of Richard in [episode nine]. They're going to tackle some of the present-day stuff on the island, but not much of it. You're going to get answers to why Richard has this sudden phobia of Locke and why it's as strong as it is." And there you have it.

Ghost Whisperer

From "Ghost Whisperer Cast's Big Tease"

This Friday, CBS’s Ghost Whisperer airs its 100th episode, and next week the stars will go to work on their fifth season finale, to air in mid-May. The stars and producers came together Monday night in Hollywood to celebrate their milestone. I was there too – and left with a goodie bag of scoops.
“’Explosive’ is the word I would like to use for our 100th episode,” previews star/producer Jennifer Love Hewitt, who also directed the installment. “There will be an unexpected death of someone you may not want to see die and this death puts everyone in jeopardy.”
This being Ghost Whisperer, you can expect this killed-off character (not a series regular) to return in some form.
The finale, titled "The Children’s Parade," will wrap up the season-long Shadows storyline involving Melinda’s five-year-old son, Aidan. “The connection of Aidan, Melinda, the Shinies (who will turn out to be the crossed-over spirits of children here to protect Aidan and Melinda) and the Shadows will come to a climax,” teases executive producer Ian Sander, with fellow EP Kim Moses adding, “There’s going to be a lot of action from the dark side and you’re going to have a lot of answers to some mysteries about the intersection of the living and the dead.”
Series creator John Gray will direct the episode, which he describes as “one of the show’s scariest. It’s basically about a haunting at a hospital by the ghosts of kids from an abandoned polio ward in the early 1900’s. They go on a march every night.”
Love adds that her spooked-out character, “will realize just how little she knows about what her son knows – and that’s scary for her. Because if she can’t see it then she can’t save him from it.”
Guest star Margaret Cho will be back for two more episodes this season as a teacher of the occult who works alongside Eli. “She’s going to help solve some crimes,” says Sander.
“She’s so amazing; so dirty and I love it,” raves Love of Cho. “We have so much fun together.”
Also guest starring in an upcoming episode: The Shield actress Catherine Dent as a boozy ghost named Laura. “It was really fun playing a drunk,” says Catherine, “because I could show up to work looking like crap.”
Love helming the 100th turned out to be a real treat for the cast. Christoph Sanders, who plays Ned, says, “she has a knack of getting us wrapped about three hours earlier than other directors. No matter how hard the day is, she never has us work more than ten or twelve hours as opposed to sixteen.”
“She knows all my week spots, so she protects me,” adds Love’s co-star and real-life love, Jamie Kennedy. “She knows I’m not a great actor before 11 am, so she made sure to shoot everyone else first before coming to me.”

Co-star Camryn Manheim got her own thrill during Love’s week behind the camera. “The best thing about having Jennifer Love Hewitt direct you is I feel I get some girl-on-girl action,” says Camryn. “She touches you, grabs you and tells you to ‘Get your boobs looking good, girl,’ in a way that other directors might end up with a memo from the heads of CBS.”

Supernatural

From "Supernatural Exclusive: Matt Frewer Cast as One of Four Horsemen"

Supernatural has cast another of the Four Horsemen of the apocalypse.
Matt Frewer — best known for a recent role in Eureka and for playing the title character on Max Headroom — has been cast as Pestilence, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. Pestilence creates and spreads disease.

"Our first brush with him in Episode 520 seems relatively innocuous and then unfolds into something more substantial," executive producer Sera Gamble said. "Put it to you this way: Horsemen on our show tend to think several moves ahead."

Throughout Season 5, we've met two of the Four Horsemen. War (Titus Welliver) and Famine (James Otis) have appeared, while the fourth Horseman, Death, has only appeared off-screen in one episode.

Ugly Betty

From "Exclusive: Two (possibly three) 'Ugly Betty' vets return"

Who says you can’t go home again? As Ugly Betty nears its April 14 series finale, it’s welcoming back, like, half of its former cast, including Ashley Jensen (Christina), Freddy Rodriguez (Gio), and maybe Chris Gorham (Henry).

Jensen, who’s currently employed on the CBS sitcom Accidentally on Purpose, reappears in episode 18, when Betty goes abroad to cover London Fashion Week for Daniel and runs into her exported Mode BFF. (Besides a semi-stylish wardrobe, our heroine packs sis Hilda for a bachelorette party with, I’m guessing, a tea-and-crumpets theme?)

But of course Christina’s pop-up pales in comparison to the return of Betty’s former sweethearts — well, at least one of her former sweethearts. Rodriguez’s comeback is a done deal. Gorham, however, remains a bit of a question mark. Last I checked he was in negotiations to return for an episode, but all I’m hearing now is radio silence. Something tells me we may not know if Henry’s returning until his actual episode airs. I guess a little mystery never hurt anyone.

Desperate Housewives

From "Scoop: Dana Delany off 'Desperate Housewives'?"

Wow – and I thought I was popular! Dana Delany is so well-regarded over at ABC that network prez Steve McPherson is inviting her to cheat on Desperate Housewives by starring in Body of Evidence, an Alphabet pilot that, if it’s picked up, would almost certainly take her away permanently from Wisteria Lane.

Of course, that’s provided a deal can be made. As of now, Delany is still in talks to headline Evidence, a procedural that centers around a female medical examiner who used to work as a neurosurgeon. ABC declined to comment.

Grey's Anatomy

From "'Grey's'/'Private' exclusive: Meet Derek's kid sister!"

How’s this for a twist: Shonda Rhimes is introducing Derek Shepherd’s kid sis, but not on Grey’s Anatomy.

Twist!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Caterina Scorsone (Lifetime’s 1-800-Missing) is joining — wait for it — Private Practice in the recurring role of Dr. Amelia Shepherd, one of Derek’s never-before-seen sisters.

I’m told the character — nicknamed “Little Shep,” natch — lands a job at Oceanside Wellness.

Currently, there are no plans for Patrick Dempsey to cross over to PP to hang with his sibling, but a family reunion — most likely right at the start of sweeps — is inevitable.

Gossip Girl

From "'Gossip Girl': Producer Stephanie Savage on Billy Baldwin, Serena and Nate, Chuck and Blair"

What's the character like? Will the audience love him? Love to hate him?

SS: People will definitely have a strong opinion about William. He causes a lot of drama because his reappearance really [affects] all the characters on the show. Serena and Eric obviously, but it will land on the other kids as well. And there's also a William-Lily-Rufus triangle, because there's a little backstory there with the three of them.

Ah, Rufus and William have history, they knew each other back in the day?

SS: Yes.

Oh, that's fun. Flashbacks?

SS: [Laughs] No flashbacks. But maybe next year.

Something that's happening this year though: Serena and Nate ... I think. Yes?

SS: Serena and Nate do get together as a couple and it feels really great. It feels like their coupling is really earned and Blake [Lively] and Chace [Crawford] have great onscreen chemistry. That's a very fun and frothy relationship, which is nice because it balances the more emotional Chuck and Blair story as those two work together to solve the mystery of the lady at Bart's grave.

Yes, the lady at Bart's grave. Of course, we all assume she is Chuck's mom. Can you say anything about this?

SS: I can say that nobody knows if it's Chuck's mother except for me, [executive producer] Josh Schwartz, our editor and the sound mixer.

It's interesting to hear that Chuck and Blair have this serious story line coming up, especially given the spoilers about an impending breakup. What can you tell us about their relationship in this second half of the season?

SS: Well, when we come back, they're very much in each other's lives and they have a very emotional story, like I said, where they solve this [multi-episode] mystery that I think audiences will really like. It's very sexy and it's also very [sweet] in terms of them being there for each other and having each other's backs in a pretty great way.

And how about Serena and Nate? Will they have each other's backs? Is this a relationship that could actually last?

SS: It's definitely a big story for us and their coupling [is a long time coming]. In the pilot, the reveal that Serena and Nate had gotten together, it sort of formed the premise of the show -- It established Serena and Blair's status as "frienemies" and explained why Serena went to boarding school in the first place and Nate thinking she came back for him, but then she started dating Dan -- You know, there's a lot of history there, a lot of series mythology and it feels like finally putting these two together has been earned.

How about Dan and Vanessa? They've been friends forever and ever. Now there seems to be something more developing.

SS: Dan and Vanessa are figuring out the fallout from Dan's "I love you." Is that going to drive a wedge in their friendship or will it lead to something more?

With Serena otherwise occupied and Hilary Duff out of the way, we're thinking the door is wide open... unless you've got other big guest stars coming in to stir stuff up.

SS: In the second half of the season, we're really focusing on our core characters. But of course there's Billy Baldwin who we're super excited about. Sebastian Stan is coming back as Carter, Michelle Trachtenberg as Georgina and Wallace Shawn as Blair's stepdad, Cyrus Rhoades. But [that's about it] for guest cast because our core characters have a lot of story.

Can you say what Georgina's role in that story will be?

SS: Georgina is showing up in our finale and, as is always the case when Georgina has gone away, she will be transformed in some way and we'll learn where she's been and what she's been up to.

And how she intends to rock the boat this time, I'm sure. Will Georgina's story line lead us into the following season?

SS: [Laughs] Yes
